BCBR Day 2

We went to bed in the rain in Cumberland and we woke up to heavier rain in Cumberland. Breakfast was good and plentiful - a common theme that recurs during the week. We then hopped on bus and drove the rainy road to Campbell River (sense a theme here?). There was a strange quiet on the bus as we drove to Campbell River. A combination of mental race prep and mental "I'm about to get really wet" prep.
The start was about 5km of a neutral rollout (lead by a police car!) with about 8km of forestry road to get into the single track.

The entrance to the trail was slick. Lots of wet roots and wet trail
caused a lot backed up riders. Welcome to BC everyone. This lasted for
a bit but eventually spaced out into the first big road climb. All
good to the top. I stopped at the well stocked aid station to see many
of the folks I had passed not stopping and going through quickly.
Lesson to me to be quicker in the aid station.

Day 0 and Day 1 BCBR

I have just completed the riding on day 1 of the BC Bike Race. It's
pretty awesome so far but it's a long way to go yet.

Day 0 started well in N. Vancouver with a very smooth registration
process. I had completed my waivers before I arrived so I skipped a
big part of the line. I then had a pretty quick registration as my
racer number 76 had very few people in the line. Others had longer
